Why?
The way we make sense of the world is failing us. We can’t deal with the straggling, sprawling situation, this New Bounded Age; it is too vast, too complicated. Overwhelming. We cannot fully ‘know’ this moment, when everything is sliding out of tilt.
Our reliance on a rational, logical way of knowing has led to this confusing, unstable moment, and holds us back from making sense of it. But reason is not our only way of knowing.
Times Long Told reaches back to an era before reason and logic, when we understood the world through the emotive arts; song and myth, fairytale and folklore. A more storied and social understanding; a knowing and a feeling.
The need to broaden our awareness is not just new-age woo, it's backed by that most logical of the arts; science has finally caught up with the stories, and we now know that our left and right brains grapple with the world in different ways.
Culturally, over centuries and generations, we have come to prioritise the logical left. KIN+KEN tilts us back towards the empathic right.

Who?
KIN+KEN was founded by serial eco-social entrepreneur, and author of Times Long Told, Tim Frenneaux, following ten years of curating his radical book club Adventurous Ink.
During this decade he immersed himself a wide spectrum of nature, travel and philosophy writers, books that describe how we think, feel and function and how we relate to each other and the rest of the natural world.
Alongside the books, Tim is also the founder of a pioneering a regenerative design practice specialising in imagination and emotional intelligence.
His distinctive insight and approach led the Doughnut Economics Action Lab to, very generously, describe him as a through leader in the field of regenerative futures.
KIN+KEN is a stitching together of these two worlds, the distillation of a lifetime trying to make sense of the world at this strange moment, in an engaging, accessible format that anyone can get involved with, wherever they are.
