Myth as a Mirror
Avoid being turned to stone by the monstrous as we make sense of this moment through stories.
KIN+KEN is a return to our roots; a fragmented memory of how we used to know the world.
Because, by God, we need to hear these old stories and songs right now.
Times Long Told
Our first book, Times Long Told, re-tells early Indo-European myths and legends alongside tales from the near present, to reveal the imprint of our oldest stories on these strange times.
Published as a series of tear+share periodicals, it follows the narrative journey arc of the hero, played here by humanity as we grapple with this New Bounded Age:
The Call to Adventure - an awakening.
Crossing the threshold - meeting with dragons, conquering heroes and crossing the great divide.
The Trials - unkeepable promises, taking the outside in, the ailments of kings and great drowning deluges.
The Return - the story so good, going round in cycles and loving life.
For fans of Homer, David Graeber, Robin Wall Kimmerer, Jon Alexander, JRR Tolkien, Iain McGilchrist, Joseph Campbell and Ursula Le Guin.
Publishing via crowdfunder in 2027.

We love books. Great for immersing yourself in a story or theme.
But we believe they can be more than a one-off read; we want them discussed excitedly and amorously; felt in our hearts, not just known in our heads.
So our books are published chapter by chapter, free on Substack and as bi-monthly print periodicals, with each copy including four duplicate chapters to tear and share with friends, before gathering to fold it back together.
Tellings
Tellings are lowkey gatherings, organised by readers to chew over the stories of the latest chapter, salting them away down their local coffee house, cafe or bar.
Not clever book clubs, awkward presentations, or preachy sermons, Tellings are some simple suggestions to create temporary DIY social spaces, for when you feel the need to belong.
This is where the magic happens.
Soft testing throughout 2026.
